Terms of Service

1. Who we are

405-Card Vault ("we," "us," or the "Service") is operated by 405-SportsCardz LLC, 88 Roy St., Swampscott, MA 01907. These Terms govern your access to and use of the 405-Card Vault website and app. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

2. What the Service does

405-Card Vault lets you catalog your sports card collection, estimate fair market value using AI-assisted photo scanning and third-party market data, and buy, sell, and trade cards with other users through fixed-price listings and auctions. We also offer an optional paid subscription with additional features (currently $9.99/month or $69.99/year — see your account for current pricing).

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity that happens under your account. Let us know right away if you suspect unauthorized use.

4. AI scanning and valuations are estimates only

The card-scanning feature uses AI image recognition and third-party pricing data (such as eBay active-listing data and other market-comp sources) to suggest a player, year, set, and fair-market-value estimate. These suggestions are provided "as is" and may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong — they are not a professional grading, authentication, or appraisal. You're responsible for verifying a card's identity, condition, grade, and authenticity before listing, buying, bidding on, or pricing it. We are not liable for losses arising from reliance on a scan result or price suggestion.

5. Buying, selling, and auctions

405-Card Vault is a marketplace that connects buyers and sellers — we are not a party to the underlying sale of any card, and we don't inspect, grade, or guarantee the condition or authenticity of any card listed by a user. Sellers are responsible for accurately describing what they're selling; buyers are responsible for reviewing a listing before purchasing or bidding.

Fixed-price purchases are charged immediately. For auctions, by placing a bid you authorize us to automatically charge your saved payment method for the full bid amount, without further confirmation, if you are the winning bidder when the auction ends. All sales are final except where required otherwise by law; contact the other party through Messages to resolve a dispute about an item's condition or description.

6. Payments, payouts, and fees

Payments are processed by Stripe. To sell on the Service, you must complete Stripe Connect onboarding, which is subject to Stripe's own terms and identity-verification requirements. We deduct a platform fee (currently 6%) from each completed sale before the remaining balance is paid out to the seller's connected Stripe account. We may change this fee going forward with notice.

7. Subscriptions

Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the interval you selected until canceled. You can cancel any time from your profile; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we don't provide partial refunds for unused time except where required by law.

8. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to list counterfeit, stolen, or misrepresented items; commit fraud or evade fees; harass other users; scrape or abuse the AI scanning or comps features; or attempt to access another user's account or data. We can remove listings, suspend, or permanently delete accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion, including through the admin tools described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSSES ARISING FROM TRANSACTIONS BETWEEN USERS, INACCURATE CARD SCANS OR VALUATIONS, OR SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.

10. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms. You can stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time; we may also suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
